The look of the brass and of the finishes naturally changes with time, through use and environmental interaction.
When cleaning all surfaces, keeping in mind the following recommendations will help the hardware age gracefully:
- use a slightly humid soft cloth
- do not use scouring pads, brushes or abrasive discs
- do not use abrasive cleaners or powders
- do not use silver cleaning solutions
Exclusively on unlacquered polished brass you may use deoxidizing cleaners (e.g. sidol) to bring brass back to its base metal finish.
